On December 18, 2015, the National Commission on Minimum Wages ("Comisión Nacional de los Salarios Mínimos" or CONASAMI ) approved a general minimum wage increase of 4.2%, effective January 1, 2016.

The wage increase will raise the general minimum wage from $70.10 Mexican pesos per day (currently, approximately $4.08 USD) to $73.04 Mexican pesos per day (currently, approximately $4.25 USD). Besides publishing the increase to the general minimum wage, CONASAMI published the new minimum wage for various occupations and industries.
