Within the parliamentary debate on the structural changes in the energy sector in Mexico (Energy Reform), on July 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21, 2014, the Senate approved, in general and in particular, three of the four resolutions by which different laws are created and other existing laws are amended.

The resolutions that were approved are the following:

Resolution that contains a draft decree in which the Hydrocarbon Law is issued and several provisions of the Foreign Investment Law, Mining Law and Public Private Partnerships Law are amended (approved July 17 and 18, 2014). Resolution that contains a draft decree by means of which the Electricity Industry and Geothermic Energy Laws are issued and several provisions of the Law of National Waters are amended (approved July 19, 2014). Resolution that contains a draft decree by means of which the Mexican Petroleum and the Federal Electric Commission Laws are issued and provisions of the Federal Government Controlled Entities Law, the Law of Acquisitions...
